More and more people are seriously considering "Should we be getting one of those whole house water filters? They question they want answered is--is it worth it? Or are we hearing just a bunch of talk!

Yes and No! OK so no answer at all. Great! But there is an answer. They are absolutely worth it, but you have to buy the right one.

The advantages

A whole system will make sure all the water you use is safe, clean and pure. Whether you are drinking it, cooking in it, or bathing in it.

Yes--a kitchen faucet filter will give you clean fresh water to drink and cook in. The problem arises when you bathe. A number of water borne pollutants are more easily absorbed in the shower, either by being vaporized by the shower head and breathed in or by being absorbed through the skin.

Obviously a whole home system will provide you with the best coverage, but which home system do you opt for?

Let's look at your options. Reverse osmosis (RO) is the number one selling system in the world with its dealer proclaiming "nothing is better". The sad truth is RO does not remove chlorine from your water. Chlorine is the most common water disinfectant used in almost 100% of municipally treated tap water in the USA.

The idea of a home system is to make sure your tap water is safe and healthy. So if your filter system doesn't remove dangerous chemicals and pollutants, why would you bother installing one?

The whole house water filter you want will remove:

*chlorine

*lead

*VOCs (volatile organic chemicals)

*THMs (trihalomethanes)

*cryptosporidium

*giardia

*MTBE (Methyl-Tertiary Butyl Ether) a gasoline additive found in a lot of drinking water

But leave-in natural minerals for the healthiest, best tasting water possible!

There are other reason you should have a whole home water filter.

You see your kitchen filter or bottled water only provides filtered water for drinking and cooking, but do you always remember to fill the cooking pot with filtered water or do you fill it from the tap?

Having a whole house water filter system makes having clean fresh drinking, cooking and bathing water as easy as it can be.

Water filters that last a life time is naturally hard to find with the variety of choices out there. When health and well-being is involved families should install the best water filter available. Filters range from countertop filters, faucets filters, undersink filters, camping filters all of which do a great job at minimum cost. There is however only one outstanding talked about filter, whole house. In my opinion, Whole House filters are the best due to its proven results in supplying the entire house with quality drinking water.

The main difference between a filter whole house system and other filters is that it is the only filter which is able to filter water throughout the entire household, that is, it can provide filtered water throughout any water outlet in your house, from kitchen taps to toilets and even garden sprinklers. Installing a whole house filter is simple and easy; I purchased my first one around 2 years ago and found that all I had to do was to attach the input line from the water source to my whole house filter. The Whole house filter I had installed also has in built by-pass valve which means that I could control whenever I wanted to wash my cars or water my lawns with normal water and this saved me on some electricity and unnecessary water filter use.

Compared with other filters, this system is so effective that all the faucet outlets in my house were receiving the same quality of water at the same water pressure rate.

A filter whole house is ideal for households especially if your water source is from municipal sources or well sources. This water is at times dangerous because it can be contaminated with disease carrying bacteria and chemicals including chlorine, lead and fluoride. When overly consumed, these chemicals and bacteria can affect your health and can sometimes even lead to cancer.

To have a filter whole house system is better and much cheaper than having multiple faucet filters around your house. Over time dirt water can start to corrode the pipes with sediments and heavy corroding minerals. Changing these pipes can cost you a fortune leaving you with an over spent budget. Installing a whole house will prevent this from happening whereby ensuring that only clean water free of chemicals and large sediments flow through your water pipes.

On a personal note, two years after investing in a filter whole house system, the doctors and plumbing bills have significantly decreased and my family loves the quality of our water. I believe that having a whole house filter has a direct positive impact on our health and well-being, so if you are looking for a water filter, than a whole house filter system should definitely be considered.
